J Street won as soon as it started up with an excellent PR campaign that other-ized the traditional Jewish Democratic organizations by painting them all as right-wing warmongers that no good person would dare associate themselves with. It was fairly easy for them to win because most people know next to nothing about Israel and cannot tell how unsupportable J Street's positions are, and there was a lot of talk on the street about the Jews starting the Iraq War and people were looking for a reason to discredit the old Jewish organizations. A "Jewish" voice saying that they are all warmongers fit the bill perfectly and shields people against feeling racist.

Now, where did J Street get their money to run the PR campaign, like that $600,000 that was run through Hong Kong? How did this unknown organization run by someone no one had ever heard of get widespread notice in the press when no newspaper runs AIPAC or ZoA press releases and some newspapers will not run FLAME's paid advertisements? Why are they influential in DC? Why are they still influential in DC? There are many unanswered questions about that group.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15627892.post-12908128160013712352012-11-12T17:34:02.576-05:002012-11-12T17:34:02.576-05:00fizziks,

That's the point of it. Looking at the 'J' in the name is no different than pointing out the Chaim Rumkowsky ran the Lodz ghetto and happily and cynically condemned all the people he himself did not personally like or get along with, to the flames of Auschwitz before he and his family were consigned to die there as well. If J-Street were literally called ANYTHING else it would be patently clear to most people except the New York Times what they were. And even the NYT would understand but they'd still lie about it because their own editorial views aren't materially different from that of the Arabs or Iran anyway.
