The t...Again though and for the one millionth time. The top Pentagon job is largely budgetary and organizational. Since the DoD has near zero footprint in on or near Israel, Friedman's statements are utter nonsense. The SecDef doesn't set foreign policy, Tom. At best, at the very best, the Pentagon has some input into the bilateral procurement process between the US and Israel or any other country and the US. And that's it, Tom. Perhaps Mr Friedman would like to tell us how Hagel is going to execute on Obama's 'Asia Pivot' or tell us how Hagel is going to address the proliferation of American bases overseas of which there are 700+. Or perhaps Friedman can be Hagel's spokesmodel for his long run view of the quantity of and makeup of all the carrier groups and the next generation CVNs in the works, or the F-35 JSF program which is now almost a decade behind schedule and billions over budget with no end in site. Or perhaps Tom can put his Jewbashing hat aside and tell us Hagel's view of the success or utility of Obama's thrusting $7 billion a year at Pakistan or his drone war in Yemen?

Because the last time I checked, Tom, none of those overtly involved Israel and yet they likely consume 90% of the job of the SecDef overall.

So tell us Tom, tell us with all sincerity how you fantasy of liquidating all the Jews in Israel addresses that.
