OH TO BE POOR AND HOLY. I remember when I used to teach 7th grade, I once asked my class to define what a Tzaddik was. The consensus was that to be a Tzaddik you had to be both very religious and dirt poor. Now I see that Israelity has a post about research that indicates that those 2 qualities do more than make you a Tzaddik.
