The More Things Change...

From an email I received via Facebook from Manhigut Yehudit:
The More Things Change...

May 14, 2008...

Embattled Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s days in office appear that they may be coming to an end.

Olmert’s term has been defined by corruption, capitulation to weak enemies, and fighting to destroy the Jewish connection to the Land of Israel - as evidenced by his pogrom against the Jews of Amona. Notwithstanding the fact that Olmert richly deserves to sit in prison for many years, it is not a time for the Nation of Israel to rejoice.

A nicely engineered transition from one leader without Jewish values to another equally bankrupt leader is currently in the works with Foreign Minister and Kadima-party number two Tzipi Livni preparing to take the reigns of power without an election.

Livni’s resume is the same as Olmert’s save for the corruption. She was instrumental in helping Ariel Sharon bulldoze his Expulsion (Disengagement) Plan through the legislative process. In the face of the disaster that we all see that the Expulsion produced, Livni continues to insist upon Israel creating an Arab state in Judea and Samaria at the expense of 100,000 more Jews being evicted from their homes and the physical safety of the entire country.

The Kadima party of Olmert, Livni and Shimon Peres will do its utmost to remain in power long enough to remove the last vestiges of Jewish connection to the Land of Israel.

The corruption and scandals that plague Israeli politicians are indicative of their complete separation from Jewish values. Not only does this behavior present a negative picture to the world of what leaders of a Jewish Nation should be, it also empowers the Jew-haters worldwide.

Additionally, by evicting Jews from their home in the Land of Israel - as was done in Gaza and Amona - these so-called “leaders” have succeeded in giving the world the false belief that the Land of Israel in its entirety belongs to those who call themselves “Palestinian”. Even Yasser Arafat’s top deputies have publicly stated that “there is no such thing as a ‘Palestinian’ people”, and yet the anti-Torah Israeli leaders insist on creating them.

Israel is desperate for leadership that will protect and deliver the Jewish people from both her internal and external enemies. Only leadership that believes in G-d and in the sanctity of the Land of Israel can provide this.

The Likud party's official Charter states that all of the Divinely-given Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish People as an eternal inheritance and is not negotiable. This position represents the heart of the Jewish people. Only leadership that has faith in G-d and makes decisions based on Jewish values will not bow to world pressure for Israel to commit national suicide.

The Likud leader who best represents these values is Moshe Feiglin, future Prime Minister of the State of Israel.
I don't know if I am necessarily completely on board with Manhigut Yehudit, but it does seem that those who think that an Olmert resignation with magically by itself bring change are not taking into account Israel's entrenched bureaucracy.
