Or can you name for me an issue that Abbas has offered to concede on?
But now it seems that according to Abbas negotiating with one's peace partners is itself passe:
Mr Obama expressed hope that direct talks would start before the end of September after a White House meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said it was "high time" such negotiations got under way.One might have thought that the whole point of direct negotiations was to deal with core issues...
A spokesman for Mr Abbas however said: "President Abbas ... insists on the necessity of progress in indirect negotiations on core issues (borders, security) before going to direct negotiations. [emphasis added]
But not Abbas--which actually makes sense: since Abbas has no intention of making any sort of concession anyway, what would be the point? And let's face it: even if Abbas had any notion to make a concession, he doesn't really have the power to make any kind of concession anyway.
Bottom line:
- Israel's peace partner cannot negotiate for peace.
- Israel's peace partner is not looking for a real peace.
- Israel's peace partner couldn't lead a country even if it is manufactured for him.
Technorati Tag: Abbas.
The Palestinians don't want peace with Israel!
ReplyDeleteWhy is that fact so hard for the Stupid Jews in Israel's government and the rest of the world to grasp?
Don't look for direct talks to happen any time soon.
