FOR SOCCER DAD--A FIRST? As far as I can recall, this is the first time that the Wall Street Journal's Best of the Web's has quoted a blog--in this case: Soccer Dad in their opening post.

The post discusses Steve "Freakonomics" Levitt's If You Were a Terrorist, How Would You Attack?, which claims to be helping to brainstorm potential terrorist plots so that they can be defended against. James Taranto of Best of the Web quotes Soccer Dad's post recalling the NY Times reaction to a plan in 2003 to do something similar: "The insensitivity of the idea boggles the mind."

Then again, nothing boggles the mind like The New York Times.
