As part of its plan of declaring Gaza as a "hostile territory," Israel has declared it is prepared to cut off fuel and electricity to Gaza--but not water.
I'm just wondering if the reason that Israel would not consider cutting off water might have something to do with the fact that this is a Shmitta year and Israel will be importing Palestinian produce.
If that is a consideration, it may be that Israel waited too long before taking action in Gaza: not only in term of the Israeli casualties--that is obvious--but also in terms of possible limitations on what Israel's Gaza options will be during the Shmitta Year, including the withholding of fuel and electricity.
