Protest: Ahmadinejad at Columbia University (UPDATE)

(check out coverage at Michelle Malkin;
also check out Columbia University's Ahmadineblog)

UPDATE:
I received the info below in an email, but according to the Stand With Us website the time for the protest is 1-3pm.

News has just broken that Columbia's SIPA school has once again invited Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak at Columbia. He is coming Monday. Ahmadinejad has frequently denied the right of Israel to exist, and has also denied the Holocaust, and recently Iran drew up plans to bomb Israel

Columbia Spectator: Ahmadinejad to Speak on Campus

PROTEST

As I write this, there are plans by dozens of organizations to protest right near Lerner Hall, where he is speaking, during the speech (1:00-2:30pm). Lerner Hall is right on W. 116th and Broadway.

COLUMBIA STUDENTS (w/ Columbia ID's): Show up to Lerner Hall anytime between 12:30-2:30PM. Hillel and many other student groups from across the spectrum will be protesting. Bring signs and posters!

OTHERS: As of now, we are talking to NYPD to have a place near Lerner Hall to stage a protest. If you do not have a Columbia ID, you will not be allowed on campus. But Lerner Hall is right on Broadway, a public street, so there will be a place to PROTEST. Until further details come out, plan to arrive on Broadway and 116th during the time of the speech.

More details to follow!

Remember - the world is watching. This is a monumental opportunity to make our voices heard. Generations will ask us, What did we do to protest? Where were we?

    "Israel drew up plans to bomb Iran"

    Yes, we know.

  2. It seems to bother some that Israel chooses to defend herself--like when she uses "disproportionate force": don't they realize that using 'equal' force would only end in a stalemate?

    Ohhhhhhhh.....

  3. It would be a shame to turn this into a "Jews vs. Arabs" or "Jews vs. Muslim" topics.

    Ahmedinejad is a world leader affecting world politics, much to our dismay. It is therefore more than aapropriate that he will speak at CU's World-Leader forum.

    His politics and views are what one should oppose, and this should not be restricted to Jews. The opposition should also not be restricted to Ahmedinejad.
