Amnesty International on Palestinian Torture: West Bank Is Mirror Image of Gaza

Not that this will have any impact on the Annapolis summit--after all, the goal of the West is to create a state. It's not as if they actually care what happens to the Palestinian Arabs afterwards. From Al Jazeera:
Amnesty International has accused Hamas and Fatah of widespread human rights abuses, including torture, arbitrary detention and other ill treatment against each other.

The rights watchdog on Wednesday released a report criticising the Palestinian governments in both Gaza and the West Bank for harming civilians in their clashes.

The 58-page report, Torn Apart by Factional Strife, said about 350 Palestinians were killed during the first months of 2007 in Palestinian infighting in the Gaza Strip, many of them noncombatants.
Check out Elder of Ziyon who has been keeping a tab on the murder of Palestinians by Palestinians based on the Palestinian press. His numbers for 2007 are higher--check the upper right hand corner of his blog.

The actual report starts with a helpful glossary. Hamas is "Islamic Resistance Movement" and the Qassam Brigades--the guys firing rockets arbitrarily at Israeli towns--are the "armed wing of Hamas."

One point being made, which has been and will be continue to be ignored, is that the West Bank is just as bad as Gaza:
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Donatella Rovera, author of the report, said Hamas forces were now conducting a clampdown on Fatah supporters and anyone else critical of them in the Gaza Strip.

However, she said: "What we're finding in the West Bank is pretty much a mirror image, even though it is much less reported.

"People find it surprising, what's happening in Gaza, buts its as if the international community doesn't want to see what's happening in the West Bank." [emphasis added]
As if!
