Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald
Newly confirmed Attorney General Michael Mukasey will have an oppoturtunity over the next few weeks to review the Justice Department's case against the 2 former lobbyists for AIPAC. In an article for the Wall Street Journal, Norman Pearlstine writes that this may present the first major test for Mukasey.
Pearlstine presents the weaknesses in the case against Steven J. Rosen, and Keith Weissman, but I can't help but think that Mukasey cannot afford to personally have the case dropped. As I wrote about in a post, Michael Mukasey is Jewish. With the bestselling--albeit deeply flawed--books by Carter and Mearsheimer & Walt, I cannot see Mukasey leaving himself open to charges by the radical left (amplified through blogs) of impropriety.
Justice for these 2 men will likely have to be achieved by going through the courts and exposing the weakness of the government case that way.
Technorati Tag: Israel and AIPAC and Michael Mukasey.
