Halkin On Obama On Israel

Hillel Halkin writes an odd piece on Barack Obama--seeing that the title of the piece is Obama Gets Israel Wrong, but Halkin does not address the issue till the last few paragraphs. Till then, he writes about what he thinks about Obama overall and the implications of his popularity among Americans in general.

On Obama and Israel, Halkin points out:

Israel is fighting a losing battle in the world arena precisely because the great majority of the world's politicians, intellectuals, and media figures, though not necessarily against the Jewish state, think like Mr. Obama that the attack now taking place on its legitimacy isn't worrisome enough to warrant their doing anything about it.

Perhaps even more worrisome is that Jewish politicians, intellectuals, and media figures may be thinking the same way.
