Gillerman Misses Last Chance To Rebut New York Times

I blogged earlier about Israellycool's favorite Israeli ambassador to the UN--today he is interviewed by The New York Times. I suppose the atmosphere was friendly and Gillerman did not want to make waves, but this exchange is very disappointing:
What about Mahmoud Abbas, the impressively moderate head of the Palestinian Authority?

I am not saying Abbas is a Mandela. But at least he is willing to talk, and the Arab world should stand with him and legitimize him and stand against the extremists. They are not doing that.
Right--not only is Abbas a moderate, but he is an impressive moderate. But Gillerman, who always has what to say does not take the opportunity to rebut.

I guess 6 years in the UN will do that to you.
