Kassams From Gaza: Alert System No Longer Effective

According to The Jerusalem Post, the nature of the attacks has changed on bother ends.

On the one hand, Defense Minister Ehud Barak has indicated that he wants to look into the possibility of allowing the IDF to take action against residential areas in Gaza from where the Kassam rockets are being fired--an issue that till now has precluded action by Israel.

In addition, Public Security Minister Avi Dichter has warned that not only has the range of the rockets been improved:
He added that Hamas's heavy mortar shelling of the region presented a threat that could not be detected by the Color Red rocket alert system. He called for the installation of the Iron Dome rocket shield, set to be in place by 2011.
At some point, Israel is going to have to take real action and not just sit back and talk about supporting a non-existent ceasefire.

Or so one would think.
