More than that, after his op-ed last Friday, Judge Goldstone is not finished with the Goldstone Report:
'Goldstone says he'll work to nullify report in UN'Of course, Goldstone going to bat for Israel in having the Goldstone Report rescinded based on incorrect information is no guarantee that the report will in fact be nullified. Goldstone's original mandate was biased to begin with, concentrating only on Israel and ignoring any investigation into Hamas.
[Interior Minister Eli] Yishai said that Goldstone made a promise to work towards retracting his UN report. Former ambassador to the UN Danny Gillerman, who also spoke with Goldstone, added that the judge would not act immediately to do so.
He wants to "wait for the dust to settle" in the aftermath of an op-ed he penned in the Washington Post last week, in which he wrote that Israel, contrary to his famed UN report, did not target civilians in Operation Cast Lead as a matter of policy, AP reported.
UNHRC spokesman Cedric Sapey told The Jerusalem Post on Monday that in order for the body to reconsider the report, that the judge would first need to write a formal letter to that effect.
On that basis--and the fact that we are, after all, talking about UN Human Rights Council--Goldstone will face an uphill and possibly unwinnable battle.
And then of course there is the issue of Goldstone's own reputation. For the past 2 years praise was showered upon Goldstone to such a degree that when they referred to Goldstone as a 'Zionist', it was not being said pejoratively. And if you do a search for "Sir Richard Goldstone" on Google, you get over 7500 hits!.
A lot of that will change now. It is possible that Goldstone's new critics will do--and say--everything possible in order to discredit him.
(Note: Of course, there is another approach: Swedish Media Ignores Goldstone Confession)
This cannot be a pleasant time for Judge Richard Goldstone, and the fact that he has said that he will pursue the issue of having the Goldstone Report nullified is to his credit.

I actually read through the Goldstone report’s executive summary, as well as the Op-ed he wrote. It wasn’t a retraction. People who are celebrating are doing it far too prematurely, it’s as if Israel was charged with 50 war crimes and he says 2 of them are now proven to be untrue. The other 48 remain.
