Driver also lightly injured as anti-tank missile explodes outside Kibbutz Sa'ad in Sha'ar Hanegev; MDA attempts to revive 16-year-old; missile lands hours after IAF bombs 2 smuggling tunnels in northern Gaza.

An anti-tank missile shot from the Gaza Strip exploded near a school bus outside Kibbutz Sa'ad in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council on Thursday, injuring two people.

The 16-year-old was in critical condition after paramedics managed to resuscitate him. He was airlifted to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba. Magen David Adom relayed that the boy was struck in his head by shrapnel from the missile.

The bus driver was listed in light condition. They were the only people on the bus.

Paramedics who revived the boy reported that they did so while under mortar fire.

Magen David Adom has raised its alert level to "Level B," one stage short of the highest level.

Local officials in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council were reporting a barrage of mortar shells and Kassams being fired at the border region following the missile attack..

Police sealed off roads in the area due to the threat of additional projectile fire. Civilians in the area were asked to remain in their homes.

The missile came several hours after the IAF struck three smuggling tunnels in the southern Gaza Strip and one tunnel in the northern area of the Strip.

The IDF spokesperson said that the forces recorded direct hits in the strikes which came in response to anti-tank missiles fired into Israel.

The IDF also recently installed the Iron Dome counter-rocket defense system in Ahskelon and Beersheba.
Muqata is liveblogging the school bus attack

Update 5:03 PM IDF has closed road 232 (inside Israel) to all civilian traffic due to ongoing rocket attacks from Gaza.

Jameel adds: Is this inconceivable that Palestinian terrorists shoot anti-tank rockets at school buses? Where is Israeli MK Hanin Zuabi to condemn this terror act, and demand the terrorists are given the death penalty?
Israel Matzav is liveblogging too:

Happened near Kibbutz Saad.

Here's a map of the area from eyeonisrael.com

Nahal Oz is in the top center and Saad is just to its right.

Targeting schoolchildren is a Hamas specialty (From July 2002):
Three of the Cohen family’s children were injured in a deliberate terror attack on a clearly marked school bus during the early stage of the current round of Palestinian attacks. Yisrael, 7, lost his right leg under the knee; Tehila, 8, lost both legs; and Orit, 12, lost part of her foot.

Do you think this was an accident?
Do you think that Hamas was not able to aim these rockets?

The Goldstone Report clearly indicates that when schools and children are the targets, it is no accident:
One does not even have to research the accuracy of Hamas weaponry, considering that the Goldstone Commission itself points out the premeditated pattern of Palestinian terrorist attacks:
1692. Where rockets have landed in towns and villages in southern Israel, they have caused localized property damage. This has included private houses1036 and cars.1037 During the operations in Gaza, a total of nine schools and kindergartens in Sderot, Beersheba, Ashdod, Ashkelon and Kiryat Ha Hinoch were hit and damaged by rockets.1038 Two kindergartens were struck and damaged by rocket fire in Ashdod.1039 On 8 January 2009, a Grad rocket hit a school in Ashkelon.1040
Think about that: 5 different Israeli cities were hit by Hamas rockets, and in each city schools are hit. It is difficult not to come to the conclusion that schools are being targeted--unless of course you are a member of the Goldstone Commission.
But this aspect of the report is ignored by everyone involved in the Goldstone Report.

Increased Hamas terrorist attacks are the legacy of the Goldstone Report.

  1. One of the legacies of the current global climate of anti-Semitism is that Jews are acceptable targets.

Ask yourself why Hamas would try to slaughter Jewish children if this wasn't tolerated by the world.
