Zahar also said that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will not visit Gaza soon. One of the reasons, he said, is that he can not guarantee that "Israel will not send its infiltrators to shoot Abbas" or that some Palestinians may "come out and throw rocks at him."
Jerusalem Post, May 11 2011
The first reason is a cop-out, pure and simple.
But the second reason--makes more sense, and indicates that the "enthusiasm" for this marriage of convenience has not permeated down to the masses.
So, does this mean that Hamas will push to sell this agreement to Gazans?
Will the latest cartoon animal on Hamas TV encourage kids to express love for Abbas?
Or will Hamas just bide its time till it gets what it wants--and then split.
Gold diggers.
Technorati Tag: Fatah and Gaza and Hamas.
The "unity agreement" is a fraud. Don't look for Abu Bluff to be visiting Gaza in the foreseeable future.
