With the Palestinian unity agreement signed and set to be sealed on Wednesday noon in Cairo, four candidates have emerged as the top contenders for the post of prime minister. The candidates include
- a billionaire philanthropist and unity activist from Nablus
- a legislative council member and author and former foreign minister from Gaza City
- a former independent presidential candidate in the 2005 elections, where he garnered 2.6 percent of the popular vote
- a Gaza independent who is a former minister
Plus, Abbas is suggesting adding Prime Minister Salam Fayyad as a candidate.
A sixth candidate, the president of the Islamic University in Gaza has also been suggested.
Just to make it interesting--why not have them appear as contestants on The Apprentice?
One catch might be Trump's patented "You're Fired"--that's not the way things are done in a kleptocracy.
The Palestinians traditionally have an alternative way of getting rid of people.
I'm sure The Donald could adjust.
Technorati Tag: Fatah and Hamas.
