Bill Clinton Thanked Terrorist Arafat For Many Decades Of "Tireless Representation Of The Longing Of The Palestinian People"

"And I thank you for decades and decades and decades of tireless representation of the longing of the Palestinian people to be free, self-sufficient, and at home."
Bill Clinton to Yasir Arafat, October 23, 1998

Yup. Those heartfelt words were spoken by our president, Bill Clinton to "reformed terrorist" Yasir Arafat.

Considering Arafat's history of "decades and decades and decades" as a terrorist--including Arafat's murder of US Ambassador Cleo Noel--not to mention the increase in terrorist attacks after Oslo in 1993, I think that when Bill Clinton claims that Netanyahu has torpedoed the "peace process", it is fair to wonder if Bill Clinton really pays any attention at all to the logic of what he is saying, or if he is just saying whatever achieves the immediate political need.

Not that there really is any reason to wonder at all.

Politics triumps everything. Remember that in 1998 oslo was still in full swing, the Israelis were still too blame for every delay in its implementation and satisfying the Arabs to prevent them from scuttling the process was the paramount objective.
