Will Ira Forman Condemn Obama For Appearing At Henry Ford Museum--Like He Condemned Romney?

Adam Kredo writes about the apparent hypocrisy of the NJDC--that former NJDC chief Ira Forman attacked Romney for speaking museum of antisemite Henry Ford, but is silent over Obama doing the same thing.

Of course, one reason for Forman's silence may be that besides Obama being after all a Democrat, the fact is that Ira Forman is himself an Obama advisor:

The NJDC’s former leader and current senior adviser to the Obama campaign, Ira Forman, pounced on Romney in 2007, chastising the candidate for cozying up to “a well-known and outspoken anti-Semite and xenophobe.”

“Romney has been traveling the country talking about inclusiveness and understanding of people from all walks of life. … Yet he chooses to kick [off] his presidential campaign on the former estate of a well-known and outspoken anti-Semite and xenophobe,” Forman griped to the Associated Press at the time.

Forman added that Romney’s “embrace of Henry Ford and association of Ford’s legacy with his presidential campaign raises serious questions about either the sincerity of Romney’s words or his understanding of basic American history.”

Strong stuff.

But claims of antisemitism do not apply to Obama when he does the same thing as Romney:

The president is expected to attend two events in the Detroit area Wednesday evening, according to an Obama campaign official. The first will be held at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, where 600 people, who have each paid at least $250, will be on hand.

This is more than an issue of how Romney and Obama treat dogs--if it is an issue that addresses the question of Romney's sensitivities, then it applies just as equally to Obama, and the hypocrisy of Ira Forman's attack then and silence now.

As Adam Kredo notes, David Harris--the current head of NJDC--is keeping quiet as well.

All around, an embarrassment for the National Jewish Democratic Council.
