The critical problem is basic medial supplies. With more than 600 individuals hospitalized in the last five days, the basic supplies our paramedics keep in their kits are completely depleted.
50 new medicals kits are needed immediately. The cost of these kits is approximately $700 each. Detailed information on the content of these kits can be found at: http://www.hatzalah.org.il/equip.php
In addition, there is a serious lack of deliberators in the north. Hatzalah has provided as a loan all available deliberators in its possession, but at least 25 more are needed at once.
There are two types of defibrillators; the basic model cost approximately $3,000 (18 needed) while a monitor defibrillators costs closer to $5,000 (7 needed).
There is also a need for more communication devices. The current system costs $150 per phone with at least 100 new phones needed as soon as possible.
Portable stretchers are needed throughout the north to deal with multiple casualties. 200 stretchers are desperately needed at the cost of $130 each.
Our teams are also making efforts to assist local residence confined to shelters with elementary equipment such as bottled water, children’s games etc. Any help in this regard with financial assistance as well as creative ideas would be greatly appreciated.
If you wish to help these efforts you may contribute on-line at: http://www.hatzalah.org.il/donate.php
Please write back or call me if you need any additional information on my cell: 845-663 5857. I will be available to meet with you in the NY area in the next few days.
May Hashem look favorably upon our efforts to stand together and shelter us all from any further inflictions.

Just for your information-
ReplyDeleteHatzolah Yosh no longer exists. The organization went bankrupt in Israel and is no longer giving out equipment.
All of their MIRS's have been turned off by the company as they have not paid for it, and they no longer have any costs.
I don't know where the money is going, but it is not going to help victims.
Feel free to call any EMT's in Israel to verify this information - it is important that people should know where there money is going and it should not be thrown in the trash
Sincerely yours,
Zvi Ben-David

I asked someone from Hatzalah to look into this.
ReplyDeleteIf you check the Hatzalah web site at http://www.hatzalah.org.il there is a copy of an article from the Jewish Voice and Opinion at http://www.hatzalah.org.il/news/news1.pdf part of which reads:
Reorganization of Hatzalah of Judea and Samaria Means Wiser Use of Tzedaka Dollars and Less Chance of Scams
By Rabbi David Marcus, The RDM Group
Hatzalah of Yehuda and Shomron (Hatzalah YS), the organization that provides the communities and cities of
Judea and Samaria with quality first aid and emergency medical response personnel, has undergone a thorough face
lift. Following a difficult period of financial instability, the organization renewed itself by bringing in a whole new team to lead the organization, refocus the organization’s mission, and place clear operational and financial guidelines with proper scrutiny and checks and balances.
A new agreement between Hatzalah YS and Yesha’s kabatim (security officers) ensures that all coordination of the emergency medical teams goes through the security officers and their chief medical officers who are in charge of the volunteer medics, paramedics, and doctors in the individual regions. This allows for better control over equipment and allows Hatzalah YS to monitor and respond to the real needs of every town.
In addition, the Yesha security officers now have representation on the Board
of Hatzalah YS and take active part in decision making.
Please feel free to read the article.
If I find any more information, I will post it
A memeber of Hatzalah who lives in my community looked into the issue and confirmed that this is legit.
