One Family Fund: An Urgent Appeal as Rockets Rain Down on Israel

Dear Friends,

Israel is in a state of emergency. The lives of nearly half a million residents in the northern part of the country are at risk. Three days ago, on the morning of July 12, Hezbollah launched a terror war against Israel killing 8 soldiers and kidnapping two others in a brazen cross-border attack.

As of 4:30pm today, Hezbollah terrorists have fired 700 Katyusha rockets at Israeli cities as far south as Haifa, injuring 150 people, and murdering three more. Hardest hit have been Tzfat and Nahariya, where firefighters are working to exhaustion to extinguish the flames in homes, buildings, and electrical stations struck by rockets.

Friends, as thousands of Israelis sit huddled in underground shelters and Israeli soldiers risk their lives to defend them, we ask for your prayers and immediate assistance for those wounded and for the families of those murdered in these attacks. For the past five years it has been OneFamily's mission to care for every family affected by terrorism. Even before the events of the last few days, OneFamily has provided financial, emotional, and legal assistance to more than 2,500 victims of terror.

OneFamily Coordinators are already working to provide for the needs of each family affected by these latest attacks – those in the hospital and those burying their loved ones. THE NEED IS GREAT.

You can begin providing these families with support NOW by donating through our secure website or contacting one of our offices nearest you.

Jewish people throughout Israel have already stepped up to offer assistance to their brothers and sisters in the north. Families in Jerusalem with beds to spare have opened up their homes to residents fleeing rocket attacks. Now is the time for Jews all over the world to act as well. We must stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel.

We ask that you pray urgently for victims of these latest attacks, including kidnapped soldiers Eldad Regev (Eldad ben Tova) and Ehud Goldwasser. And please do not forget Gilad Shalit (Gilad ben Aviva), who has been held captive in Gaza by Palestinian terrorists for the past 19 days.

OneFamily also requests that synagogues throughout the world hold Special Campaigns this Shabbat and next for the victims of these attacks. If your synagogue is not already participating in such a campaign please ask your Rabbi to initiate one.

Make a Donation online at https://secure.onefamilyfund.org. Feel free to specify in the "comments" section if you would like your money to go toward helping the victims of these latest attacks.
