Majority of Russian Olim Would Do It Again

The Jerusalem Post has a special email update where they are reporting on a survey that will be presented on October 16 during the first Immigration and Absorption conference. It will take place in Ashdod under the auspices of the Jewish Agency, Bar-Ilan University and the Immigration and Absorption Ministry.

I'm curious if they will address the issue of the Israeli 'skinheads' many of whom seem to have come from the former Soviet Union.

According to The Jerusalem Post
Three-quarters of immigrants to Israel from the former Soviet Union said they would do it again if they were given the opportunity, according to a survey commissioned by the Immigration and Absorption Ministry.

Only 10% of those surveyed said they would never have immigrated if they knew then what they know now.

On the other hand, almost a third of new immigrants between the ages 18 and 34 said they were not sure they would stay in Israel.
If that 30% who want to leave includes those who are attacking Jews in Israel, it would not be such a bad thing.
On the other hand, if this conference does not result in some kind of change in the current policy of drawing immigrants at any cost--that would be a bad thing.
