Who Is Really Exacerbating The Fuel Shortage In Gaza?

In reaction to the decision of the Israeli Supreme Court to reject the argument that the Israeli cutback in the supply of fuel to Gaza would cause humanitarian harm:

Gisha director Sari Bashi disagreed with the court's reasoning. ''These punitive measures are repeatedly pushing Gaza residents to the brink without any legitimate security justification,'' she said.

''Preventing health care workers from driving to patients in need does not stop Qassam rocket fire ... and only makes more innocent civilians suffer,'' Bashi said.

Someone should point out to Bashi that it is not Israel that is preventing fuel from getting to those who seriously need it:

The Palestinian health ministry of the Ramallah-based caretaker government said on Thursday that "Hamas militias" have looted the fuel stores destined for hospital vehicles in the Gaza Strip.

A statement released by the health ministry said that fuel from the European hospital in the Gaza Strip had been stolen by the director of the hospital drivers to supply the Hamas-affiliated Executive Force.

If the Hamas militias are that short on fuel--the cutbacks are working!
