Headline Of The Day II: 'Hamas Qassams headed toward LA'

I suppose that if the headline was written by the editor of TIME magazine--the guy who brought us: Why Israel Doesn't Care About Peace--it would have been more along the lines of: Israel Sends Qassams Toward LA.

Here is the actual story, from Ma'an:

An Israeli hospital began using remnants of homemade projectiles fired from the Gaza Strip as part of a fundraising drive in the United States, organizers claimed.

Supporters of Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon, southern Israel, said they brought to Los Angeles remnants of the weapons used by some Palestinian military groups based in Gaza.

Fundraisers say they will display a collection of projectiles and mortars reworked into a presentation of sculptures by Israeli artist Niso Maman. A statement said the display would be unveiled Wednesday in the southern California city.

"It is first time that the Israeli government has allowed the remnants and shrapnel from Qassam missiles launched by Hamas into Israel to leave the country," Friends of Barzilai said in a statement.

The evening will culminate with a "live Qassam auction."

The pieces will then embark on a traveling exhibit around the United States.
