RABBI KIVELEVTIZ: MINING THE MACHZOR. Rabbi Avraham Kivelevitz gave a shiur last night on the Rosh HaShanah Machzor, discussing some of the history and background of the Machzor and a general comparison of styles of Eleazar ben Kallir and Rabbi Shimon ben Yitzchak.

You can download the audio of the shiur here.

After Maariv, Rabbi Kivelevitz spoke briefly about a correlation between Rosh HaShanah and 9-11, something he had mentioned during the shiur but did not get to speak about.

You can download it here.

Kesiva V'Chasima Tova to everyone.

He seems more critical of Hasidim and of general minhagim associating than of Rosh HaShanah itself.

the file is about 64meg. It used to be stored on bestsharing.com but that server no longer exists.

If you know of another server I can upload this to, please let me know.
