UN Threatens Israel's Open Nuclear Facilities

We call on the international community to put pressure on Israel to accept the NPT, get rid of its arsenal and delivery systems, in order to allow for peace and stability in our region.
Syrian diplomat Abdullah Hallak

The UN is targeting Israel's nuclear facilities:UN Demands Nuclear Inspections in Israel:
The UN General Assembly approved a resolution on Monday by a vote of 174-6 that would require Israel to open its nuclear program to inspection “without further delay.” The only countries voting against it were the U.S., Canada, Marshall Islands, Micronesia and Palau.

And the animus toward Israel doesn’t stop there; the UN also wants to convene a meeting to ban nuclear weapons from the Middle East, which would leave Israel vastly outnumbered and essentially helpless against the Islamic hordes wishing to eradicate it.
Apparently the UN's desire for control extends beyond the UN's desire to exercise power over the Internet.

Although the US was among those opposing the idea of requiring Israel to open up its nuclear facilities to inspections, it did vote in favor of two paragraphs that would require all nations to adhere to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT), and advising that any countries that do not adhere to the treaty now, ratify the NPT as soon as possible.

The only two countries that objected to this were Israel and India -- which the above article notes "are the most threatened by Islamic neighbors".

Unfortunately, there is supposed to be some kind of logic to making democracies abide by measures that would curtail their weapons, before requiring dictatorships to do so.
