The Media Still Ignores The Consequences of Palestinian Rock-Throwing

Anav Silverman writes A Rock is a Bullet: The Consequences of Palestinian Rock-Throwing, telling the story of a seven-month old infant hit in the head by a rock thrown by a Palestinian Arab -- and the consequences 23 years later:

For over 25 years, Palestinian rock-throwing has become a part of routine life for Jewish residents living in Judea and Samaria. On the roads to the settlement communities, many of the 300,000 residents living in the scenic region have experienced some kind of rock attack on their vehicle. While there has been much debate about the political significance of a Palestinian rock thrower by outside media observers and political commentators, for residents impacted by such rock attacks, the rock is simply seen as lethal.

Amira Hass Ignores Centuries Of Muslims Stoning Jews and Defends It As A Birthright

In 2001, she [Amira Hass] was found guilty in court of libel for presenting a false account of Hebron Jews kicking, spitting on and dancing around the corpse of a Palestinian shot by border police. Unfortunately for Hass, closed circuit television footage and a police investigation exposed her story as a lie, and she was ordered to pay 250,000 NIS in damages to the Jewish community.

Leave it to Amira Hass and her special brand of sloppy journalism to promote her claim that throwing stones at Jews has now attained the level of an Arab "birthright" and "metaphor of resistance." In her article The inner syntax of Palestinian stone-throwing, published by Haaretz (also known for its shoddy reporting: see CAMERA for a long list of Haaretz errors), Hass writes:

Arlene Kushner on Syria and Gaza Firing On Israel

From Arlene Kushner:
April 4, 2013

Not unexpected -- what we're dealing with now, but our Defense Minister, Moshe (Bogie) Ya'alon, is going to need all the strength he can muster.  Just as the government more broadly -- and certainly the Security Cabinet -- will require stiff backbones and clear-eyed determination.

There is the situation in Syria.  I had written in my last post about shooting over the border from Syria (presumed in that case. at least, not to be accidental), to which the IDF responded.  Well, it happened again, twice on Tuesday, with light fire aimed at an IDF patrol and then a mortar that landed in the Golan.  The IDF responded with tank shells aimed near Tel Hazeka, which were said to have "accurately targeted the source" of the fire.

Israeli Victim Of Palestinian Stoning Attack Tells Her Story

Perhaps you have read the story in YnetNews: Caught on tape: Palestinian hurls brick at car:
A teacher was on her way home to the West Bank settlement of Karmei Tzur on Tuesday when she found herself the target of a rock salvo that smashed her windshield.

Zehava Weiss, the driver, came out unscathed from an incident that has become a daily experience for residents in the region. An AFP photographer who was standing nearby captured the instance when a Palestinian boy hurled a boulder at her car.

Here is a picture taken by a photographer who 'happened' to be at the scene:

And here is Zehava Weiss's story about what happened, in her own words:
