* Meet the true heroes of Israel on tours to unique pioneering towns and projects.
We are excited and happy to begin registration for this year's annual Chaya Sarah Mission.
On a spiritual level you can expect one of the most fantastic experiences you will ever have, joining tens of thousands of other Jews in the City of the Patriarchs. Here are additional details and plans for this unforgettable mission.
Accommodations:
1) On Shabbat our guests are staying at "Midreshet Chevron" which is a Youth Hostel type facility located in Kiryat Arba, about a 10 minute walk to the Ma'arat HaMachpela. The rooms generally have between 4 and 6 beds per room, arranged in a number of 2-4 room apartments in a four story structure. Sleeping arrangements are dormitory style, some apartments for men, others for women. Family members of different genders cannot sleep in the same apartment. Bedding and towels are
provided.
2) For those interested, from Wednesday evening through Sunday, we can host you at the Sheraton Plaza Hotel. Price below is based on doubleoccupancy.
Meals:
1) All three Shabbat meals will be catered by Ofer O'Chana of the Gutnick Center next to the Ma'arat HaMachpela.
2) Coffee and cake will be available at the Midrasha throughout Shabbat.
3) During the week, enjoy the lavish breakfast at the Sheraton Plaza, for those staying there. Other meals are not included.
Friday - Shabbat Program:
Services: Friday night we usually join the Carlebach style minyan on the lawn next to the Ma'arat HaMachpela. Shabbat morning there are a number of minyanim inside the Ma'arat HaMachpela available to us, but most people choose to join the thousands at the main 8 AM minyan in Ulam Yitzchak.
This year we will again be doing a bus tour of Hebron on Friday for those who want to learn more about Hebron in comfort and thus be able to spend Shabbat visiting with residents, learning, hearing lectures and taking it easy. This will also allow you to do your shopping in the gift shop on Friday. We will still have an option of a Shabbat Hebron walking tour for those who want it.
Armored Bus Transportation:
There will be two options for bus transportation on Friday - the Friday morning tour which ends up at the Midrasha for check-in and the afternoon direct bus service to the Midrasha.
Payment:
A) $360 for Shabbat meals and accommodations, including Friday tour and/or two way armored bus transportation.
B) $900 for entire package from Wednesday to Sunday– the above weekend package, plus weekday hotel accommodations during the week and optional/additional tours. Weekday hotel pricing is based on double occupancy rates.
When registering, please call our office and provide us with your credit card details. We will not actually charge your card until a week or two before the mission.
Airfare:
Once again, we will not be handling airfare this year. Please arrange your travel with your travel agent.
Optional / Additional Tours:
Besides the tours of Hebron of Friday and Shabbat, we are planning to offer day trips on Thursday Nov. 1 and Sunday Nov. 4. We are considering visits to the South Hebron Hills communities, as well as to the new Tekoa Road, Herodian, biblical Tekoa and Efrat's contested "Givat Eitam" Outpost. Other ideas include visiting Chomesh and Sderot. We would love to hear from you as to ideas on what YOU would like to do on one or both of these days.
As accommodations may be limited, if you are interested in joining us, please contact us as soon as possible at 718-677-6886 or at es@hebron.com.
