Are All 4 Year Old's Socialists?

I know that my son is.

Bear with me.

Yesterday, we had a family flower planting project.
Since my 4 year old son's green thumb is somewhat small, I asked him to hand me the flower and I would plant it for him.

His response, with hands outstretched:
But these flowers are for aaaaalllllllllll of us.
I suppose that would explain the stunt he pulled the day before:

Note To Self...

When getting the baby dressed during the morning rush, remember to make sure that the bottom of the onesy is unbuttoned.

I Took My 11 Month Old To Work And All I Got Was A Lousy Video...

Yesterday was a bad day for the baby. He had a bad night and taking him to the doctor did not make him feel any better. After picking up his medicine, and before taking him home, I had to stop off at the office to do some work--and keep the baby entertained.

But people at the office were probably more entertained than he was.

Today my daughter complained of a stomach ache (she is lactose intolerant) so I am home with both of my children. The doctor said if she does not get better, I should take her for blood and urine tests--which I duly reported to my daughter.

She is already starting to feel better...

Blogging Is NOT For Babies!

I had to stay home with my 8 month old son who was both vomiting and had diarrhea. So what do you do to entertain your baby?

I had a really stupid idea: I'll let him write his first blog.
It started off OK:
J AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"#}
.de
But he was hitting more function keys than the letters and numbers. Then suddenly, the screen blacked out--and came out sideways!

Rebooting didn't help.
In the end I looked online and finally found the answer.

Turns out its a feature, not a bug (sure): just press the Control & Alt keys and the arrow key for the orientation you want--Do not ask me how my son hit that combination of keys.

By the way, in case you are curious--my son's blog is going on hiatus.

Back From The Hospital

Late Thursday morning my wife and I took our 4 month old son to the hospital and got back home Sunday afternoon--Baruch HaShem, he is doing much better. (My wife and I are still recovering)

Gimmel Tefachim was up most of Wednesday night, unable to keep anything down--throwing up formula, Pedialite and even water. His doctor advised us to take him to take him to the hospital. Once there, they took a number of specimens for cultures, including a sample of spinal fluid to test for Meningitis. Somehow, at a time that most hospitals seem to be in a rush to get you out of the hospital, this one seemed intent on keeping us as long as they could.

Shabbos there was made much easier thanks to Baruch Who and his wife, who provided us with food for Shabbos, and took care of our daughter--who was thrilled to have a 3-day sleepover.

The hospital actually did have facilities for providing food for Shabbos, and I was in the process of asking a shaila of my rabbi, when my wife called for more details on the meals. It turns out that the hospital charges $28
per meal.
per person.

We gracefully declined their hospitality--although I wonder if maybe they should take a crack at going into the kosher catering business.

As long as they change their name.
Somehow, I don't think that Saint XXXXXXX Kosher Catering would go over too well.
