Google--A Terrorists Best Friend

YNet News reports on the consequences of Google Earth's increased resolution:
From now on, when a member of the global Jihad network will be sent to gather intelligence information about a sensitive site in Israel, his masters would be able to provide him with exact coordinates to be entered into Google Earth's search window on his laptop – and that's it. The program will assist him in preparing the operation: It will show him the target from up close and enable him to identify a nearby building where he can observe the target, as well as escape routes.
Check out Weasel Zippers for examples of what Google Earth provides--including Dimona and an image labeled as a spy blimp.

Of course, Google Earth could provide closeups of Hamas areas--but Israel's problem there seems to have been more one of will than of intelligence.

Actually it is not a big deal. Today for a few bucks you could purchase a much more detailed satellite photos from more than one provider. So Google just makes it more convenient and free, still there are some limits to Google resolution (according to the restrictions placed by US laws).

Which limits are not enforced on the European companies that provide the pictures for money.

Still, just how easy does Google have to make it for terrorists...Do most people find it actually useful, or just a novelty?
