EU SUPPORTS RETURN OF GOLAN TO SYRIA. So announced EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana--and he said the EU would like to take an active role to get that done.

Syria has made it clear that its cooperation to help end violence in Iraq was tied to Western, especially U.S., backing for its peaceful campaign to regain the Golan Heights, which Israel occupied during the Middle East war four decades ago.

Just what does the EU think Syria has been doing till now--I mean besides assassinating Lebanese leaders who oppose Syria's occupation of Lebanon.

Pity that Lebanon has nothing to offer the EU.
