Breakdown of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza May 30th-June 5th

From the IDF blog, below is an official detailed breakdown of the humanitarian aid that has been provided to Gaza from May 30th- June 5th. It includes the number of trucks and how many tons of aid have been imported during the past week, and which goods were brought in.

There were 484 truckloads brought into Gaza, including 20 truckloads of aggregates (materials used in construction) and 2 truckloads of cement.

Here is the documentation:

Israel seems confused about the message it wants to convey. On the one hand it says the Free Gaza flotilla is useless because Gaza has no humanitarian crisis, on the other it boasts of sending over humanitarian aid itself (thus confirming there is a humanitarian need).

Not at all.

If the Hamas terrorists were not continuing to send rockets at Israeli civilians, steps could be taken to get rid of the border closure and eliminate the blockade.

Instead, both the closure and blockade are necessary to prevent material that can be used for those rockets (if not the rockets themselves) from being brought into Gaza.

The current situation in Gaza is not ideal, but as is clear from the pictures of the stores--and of the fancy hotel, restaurants and Olympic pool--the situation does not match the dire one advertised by Palestinian apologists.

Bottom line: if Hamas would stop the rocket attacks and release Shalit, the situation could return to normal.
