A politically connected Bogota lawyer said he has filed an international suit charging Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez with 'crimes against humanity' for alleged support of Colombian guerrillas.I don't suppose anyone has thought that maybe blowing up Israeli civilians was a 'crime against humanity'...?
Jaime Granados, personal attorney for outgoing President Alvaro Uribe, filed the claim with the International Criminal Court at The Hague, alleging evidence of guerrilla camps in Venezuelan territory.
How about firing thousands of rockets at Israeli cities over the past years--something that Hamas continues to do?
We are just so accustomed to seeing the UN turning a blind eye to this that news of rockets landing in Israel--and no longer just Sderot--that it has become business as usual. That is, unless Israel defends itself, in which case the self-proclaimed 'human rights activists' and defenders to international law suddenly climb out of the woodwork.
Assuming that Venezuela cannot defend their sponsorship of terrorism as an act of 'resistance,' maybe Colombia has a shot.
If not, it will be expected to just take it.
Like Israel.
