Hamas and Zaraqawi: Common Detonator Denominator

Hamas seems to feel pretty strongly about the death of Zarqawi:
An official Hamas announcement mourns the "murder" of Al-Zarqawi, the "jihad warrior" who "fell in the name of Allah." Gaza Arabs rallied and demanded revenge for the killing.
We haven't seen this kind of Palestinian outpouring for a Moslem murderer of other Muslims since Arafat backed Sadam Hussein against the US.

Which brings to mind the following similarities between Zarqawi and Hamas:
  • Both Hamas and Zarqawi have killed innocent people
  • Both Hamas and Zarqawi have killed Americans
  • Both Hamas and Zarqawi have killed Moslems
No wonder the Palestinian Arabs have so few friends in Iraq.

This outpouring of grief seems strange when you know that some of the grieving characters are going to meet up with Zarqawi pretty soon.

Unless this is precisely the reason for the grieving ;-)

Maybe the reason is out of fear--of Al Qaeda.
The kind of fear a shark feels...when he spots a killer whale in the neighborhood...like Gaza.
