I'm just curious if they approached an imam as well--who turned down the invitation because the hamburgers were not halal.It's no joke.
A catholic priest, rabbi and Buddhist monk walked into a new burger joint in Chelsea today to bless the place.
The Buddhist monk turned to the priest and said, “This is my first time blessing a burger joint.” The priest doesn’t say much, just sprinkles some holy water, but the rabbi said, “The last restaurant I did was a hot dog joint in New Jersey.”
Seriously.
The religious men gathered to try to break a curse on 470 W. 23rd St., the new home of New York Burger Co.’s third franchise. Over the years, about half a dozen restaurants have opened and quickly closed there.
According to the New York Times, at some point there was going to be a private Native American ceremony and an Episcopalian minister who was supposed to join the other three was running late. The rabbi put up a mezuzah and the Buddhist priest sprinkled water.
If they are successful in exorcising the demons in the burger joint, maybe they could work on the White House next?
