Many commentators, most eloquently Bret Stephens at the Wall Street Journal, draw a parallel between the appeasement of Hitler at Munich in 1938 and the appeasement of Iran at Geneva. There is another, more chilling parallel: Iran's motive for proposing to annihilate the Jewish State is the same as Hitler's, and the world's indifference to the prospect of another Holocaust is no different today than it was in 1938. It is the dead's envy for the living.

Dying civilizations are the most dangerous, and Iran is dying. Its total fertility rate probably stands at just 1.6 children per female, the same level as Western Europe, a catastrophic decline from 7 children per female in the early 1980s. Iran's present youth bulge will turn into an elderly dependent problem worse than Europe's in the next generation and the country will collapse. That is why war is likely, if not entirely inevitable.

The Flip Side

Yesterday I wrote about certain things that PM Netanyahu said at the National Public Diplomacy Forum of the Foreign Ministry.  Today I want to look at some other things he said.

What I cited yesterday was what he himself emphasized, and what I felt was most important to share. But I would be remiss if I didn't also allude to this.

What he said was: 

"I want to solve the conflict with the Palestinians because I don't want a binational state."

Falling Muslim Birthrates May Delay That Muslim Conquest Of The West

In most of the Islamic world it’s amazing, the decline in fertility that has happened.

Yoram Ettinger, who often writes about the decline in Palestinian fertility and the underestimated growth in the fertility of Israelis, writes that there is a actually a decline in fertility across the Muslim world:

One of the reasons given for why Israel must forge ahead with peace talks towards a 2 state solution has been that otherwise with the greater Muslim birthrate, Israel will cease to be a Jewish state.
