DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT ISRAELI HISTORY...Last week I had a post that mentioned an incident where a British journalist decried how an Israeli murdered "their most peaceful Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu."

Now My Right Word reads in Newsweek:
a general might well be voted into office — which could serve everyone's interest. The Jewish state has been down this road before. After the 1973 Yom Kippur War, when Israel had been caught unprepared by a major invasion, the electorate turned against the civilian prime minister, Golda Meir, who ultimately resigned. She was replaced by a respected military man, Yitzhak Rabin. And it was Rabin, of course, who eventually led the country to its first major peace treaty with the Palestinians.
Considering the major historical events and points of international law that the media bungles, I suppose stuff like this should be expected.

Of course Newsweek will respond that they are emphasizing efforts to make peace with the Palestinians in particular (and thereby bring peace to the known universe). But it should be noted that if one look around, there is no evidence that a "major peace treaty" with the Palestinians was ever signed, while Egypt has been keeping its hands--and arms--to itself.
