Hamas Gets Haimish With Obama

At Contentions, Jennifer Rubin argues that Hamas backing for Obama--a point raised by John McCain--is a topic for conversation and not a smear.
It’s fine and well for Obama to say in a general election setting that Hamas is a terrorist organization, but John McCain’s central point is correct: Hamas endorsed Obama. It is worth considering why. Is it because he favors direct, presidential talks with Hamas’ sponsor Iran? Or because Hamas sees him as lacking resoluteness or as excessively sympathetic to the Palestinian cause? And it’s not as if Hamas is an isolated case of fringe groups and individuals favoring Obama.
Indeed, for those keeping score at home Obama has notched quite an assortment of international fans with a similar bent:
Perhaps just as troubling for Obama as his domestic friends are the international supporters he is collecting. Yesterday, Hamas gave him the thumbs up. Previously, Daniel Ortega said that he likes what he sees, labeling Obama a “revolutionary phenomenon.” FARC is banking on an Obama presidency to nix U.S. aid to Colombia and shut down the free trade deal. Fidel Castro also sent word that he likes the Dream Ticket.
Why do they all like Obama?
With his prescription to cure every conflict with talk and negotiations--what is there not to like?
