When Russia Wanted Attention, Kruschev Just Banged His Shoe On The Table (Updated)

The technique has changed, but the message is pretty much the same:

"We Will Bury You!"
VS

"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it"
Hamas Charter

Kruschev wanted attention.
So does Hamas.

Since it thinks that Abbas has the go-ahead to open direct negotiations with Israel, Hamas doesn't want to be left out of the picture. True, Hamas refuses to recognize Israel, abide by past agreements or stop its attacks--but negotiations between Abbas and Israel, along with economic progress in the West Bank, can only highlight the differences between conditions in the West Bank and Gaza: and shopping centers, resorts and restaurants can only cover up so much Hamas misrule.

So what better way to upset the apple cart, and grab headlines to show that Hamas cannot be ignored, that to fire more rockets at Israeli civilians.

Or maybe they just want to justify the fact that like Abbas, the time for Gaza elections have come and gone.
Hamas may have been duly elected--but will they ever take a chance at being duly re-elected?

UPDATE: Check out The Brothers of Judea, who cover The Huffington Post. They point out how when Israel takes action, context is still a low priority in the media.
