Friday: Hamas Terrorists Fire 4 Kassams and 11 Mortar Shells

There has been no letup in the activities of the Hamas terrorists in Gaza, with 4 Kassams and 11 mortar shells fired by Hamas into Askelon:
Iron Dome intercepts 3 rockets headed for Ashkelon; 22 mortars fired in total since dawn; Palestinians say IDF Gaza strikes leave 5 dead, including 2 Hamas men and mother along with her child.

Rocket and mortar fire from the Gaza Strip continued on Friday evening as four Kassam rockets were launched towards Ashkelon.

Police said that the Iron Dome counter-rocket defense system intercepted three of the rockets and the fourth rocket exploded in the industrial area of southern Ashkelon.

Less than hour later, three mortar shells landed in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council. Earlier in the afternoon, five mortar shells landed landed south of Ashkelon and three in the Eshkol Regional Council. All landed in open areas, causing no casualties or damage.
According to the IDF, two terror cells were struck, and since Friday morning, 19 mortar shells have exploded across southern Israel.

The IDF blog has acknowledged that there have been civilian casualties in Gaza:
Next to one of the targets, in addition to the terror squad, uninvolved civilians have apparently been injured.

The IDF regrets that the Hamas terrorist organization chooses to operate from within its civilian population, using it as a “human shield”. The IDF will continue to operate with strength and determination against any terrorist organization using terror against the State of Israel. The Hamas terrorist organization is solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip.
As usual, the IDF expresses regret for the death of civilians caught in the line of fire, while Hamas eagerly claims credit for targeting a school bus.

Solomonia points out that in doing so, Hamas admits to a war crime--not that the world notices or cares
