Terrorists Open Fire on an Egged Bus, Traveling on Road 12, North of Eilat Reports of 6 wounded

Updated 8:17am

Barry Rubin gives an analysis of the importance of today's terrorist attack on Israel and how it is the result of the Egyptian revolution:
This isn’t just another terrorist attack—it’s a major escalation, a new phase in the Arab-Israeli conflict, and it is the bitter fruit of the U.S.-backed downfall of the government of President Husni Mubarak in Egypt.

In Israel, to donate blood to the MDA dial: 1800 400 101

Both Israel Matzav (Coordinated terror attacks near Egyptian border) and The Muqata (Terror attack between Israel, Egptian Border) are live-blogging the 3 terrorist attacks, which started with a shooting at an Egged bus.

1. 'Palestinian' terrorists shot at an Egged bus carrying 23 soldiers from Beer Sheva to Eilat--no one on the bus was killed

2. 'Palestinian' terrorists near the Philadelphi corridor shot at a private car--2 children were hit.

3. 'Palestinian' terrorists attacked an IDF patrol in the Philadelphi corridor area.

Key issue is how the Hamas terrorists entered into Israel. Israel Matzav writes:
Egyptians denying any involvement. Claim that no one came in to Israel through Egypt. Take that with a grain of salt as best estimate now is that terrorists went from Gaza to Egypt (Sinai) to Israel using a road called Tzir HaHeth - a road that is shaped like a Hebrew letter Heth (which is like a rectangle with the bottom left open).

Israellycool (Multi-Staged Terror Attack In Israel)  is also live-blogging, and quotes Hamas:
Occupied Om Ar-Rashrash- Two Israeli military buses carrying soldiers were ambushed by a group of unknown militant members in the occupied territories city of Eillat( Om Ar-rashrash) southern of the occupied Palestine, Thursday August18th, 2011.

Israeli sources reported in an initial details that six Israeli soldiers were killed, while 25 others have suffered moderate to mild injuries in the attack, which took place about 30km(18 miles) north of Om Ar-Rashrash.
Of course, that is to be expected from a terrorist group that justifies a mortar attack on a children's school bus--as if they limit their attacks to military targets.

Check these 3 blogs for regular updates.

I just noticed that Challah Hu Akbar (Multiple Terrorist Attacks Strike Southern Israel) is also live-blogging the terrorist attack and Tundra Tabloids (Terrorists Fire On Egged bus, Police Looking For Infiltrators in White Car)
