New: Interactive Global Map of Terrorism

Hat tip: larwyn

Have you seen The Global Incident Map?

According to the site:
This free public service website was created to give the public, law enforcement, military, and government individuals a new way to visualize, and become instantly aware of terrorism and security incidents across the world.

While this website employs much automation, the news gathering itself is not automated - news items are located, reviewed, and manually entered into the database. We do not have adequate staffing so there are periods of each day when events are delayed in getting onto the map.

It was created by the publishers of www.TerroristWarning.com and www.TransitSecurityReport.com as a continuation of our efforts to contribute to the Global War on Terrorism.
Some things that stand out:

1. There don't seem to be a lot of terrorism going on in Russia
2. There are a lot of suspicious incidences in the US that we don't seem to hear much about
3. Things seem pretty quiet in Israel--no mention of terrorist attacks or even Palestinian terrorists shooting at each other

Check out the entire page--the incidents are broken down by type: chemical, radiation, shipping, etc.

I didn't think it was possible, but this map makes the world look even scarier than I thought it was.
