Abbas: No Negotiations With Israel Until It Makes More Concessions

Since when does one side have to make concessions before negotiations even begin?
When you are Mahmoud Abbas, of course:
The Palestinians won’t open direct negotiations with Israel unless progress is first made on the issues of borders and security, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told US special Middle East envoy George Mitchell on Thursday.

Abbas said there would be no progress in the peace process unless Israel recognized the June 4, 1967, lines as the future borders of a Palestinian state.
And the fact that Abbas can get away with refusing to negotiate with the country you are supposedly negotiation peace with makes it easy.

Of course, the fact that Obama stands behind Abbas's shenanigans 100% certainly helps.

After all, the goal--their goal-- is to create a state, not to make peace.
