The Palestinians have not budged an inch in their position in the last century, while the Jews, worn out and exhausted from maintaining a protracted conflict with no real end in sight, have abandoned all their red lines. The Palestinians not unreasonably think if they hold firm, the Israelis will pay any price to get another peace on a piece of paper.
Why in the world should they have to make any concessions at all? They can wait for Israel to concede still more to them in the future.
