Recently USC Muslim Students Association page featured the following quote:
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him. When this was brought to the attention of the University, they had it removed--good for them.
But some of this stuff still remains on the USC website, specifically where the Muslim Students Association keeps a Compendium of Muslim Texts. One of these texts is the Sahih al-Bukhari, a collection of Hadits--oral traditions.
In the translation of Book 52, in a section entitled Fighting for the Cause of Allah (Jihaad), you will find the following:
Another section, entitled Virtues and Merits of the Prophet (pbuh) and his Companions, has more of the same.
These quotes appear in more than one location, as is traditional in Islamic theology and an indication of authenticity. Since early 2008 the Muslim Students Association has been asked to repudiate this genocidal hadith and terrorist organizations by the David Horowitz Freedom Center. Every individual MSA chapter has failed to repudiate the genocidal imperative contained within the hadith and has also failed to condemn terrorist groups like al-Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah.Maybe the next Islamist group that claims to condemn terrorism should be asked to repudiate this Hadith.
