Israel To Build New Housing Units In Response To Fogel Family Massacre

http://myrightword.blogspot.com/2011/03/media-goof.htmlIsrael has responded to the murder of the Fogel family
The Israeli cabinet has approved the building of hundreds of new homes for Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank, a day after five members of a settlement family were killed.

The Israeli prime minister's office said the approval was a stern political message to Palestinians following the incident in a remote settlement over the weekend.

A statement from Binyamin Netanyahu's office said the ministerial team on settlements decided on Saturday night to approve the construction of several hundred units at Gush Etzion, Maale Adumim, Ariel and Kyriat Sefer.

According to The Associated Press news agency, the prime minister's office said in a text message to reporters that the construction will be in major settlement blocs that Israel expects to hold on to in any final peace deal.
The story was picked up by AFP, which managed to distort the story:
Israel announced Sunday it had approved hundreds more settlements to be built in the West Bank, a day after five members of a settlement family there were stabbed to death in their sleep.
Of course, it is possible that it was not a mistake at all. Maybe AFP just decided to use the same language as the Arabs:
The Palestinian Authority (PA) on Sunday condemned the "decision of the Israeli government to speed up and increase the building of settlements", said Saeb Erakat, the former chief Palestinian negotiator and senior PLO official. [Hat tip: My Right Word]

"[The PA] strongly condemns the settler attacks against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and we ask the Quartet [the United Nations, European Union, United States and Russia] to urgently intervene to stop the actions of the settlers," Erakat said.
In any case, building new settlements is not such a bad idea--it would be following Dr. Aaron Lerner's suggestion of building 5 new neighborhoods in the West Bank in response to the murders.

As I wrote earlier, while Abbas commemorates the terrorists, Israel should commemorate the victims of those terrorists--and five new settlements would do just that.

The people you call Palestinians, are used, abused, and mistreated far worse by their Arab brothers than by what the Israelis do to them. How come they still live in refugee camps in all those Arab countries? Since 1967!!! The rest they’ve brought on themselves through their deceit, duplicity, and terrorism. Have sympathy for them, when THEY have sympathy for Jews and Christians!!
